My name is Dakota, I am the author of this photography inspired weblog. I enjoy photography, travel and meeting new people. Thought provoking conversations along with coffee inspire me, and the occasional French movie is interesting. I use photography as a means of visual expressionism and communication.
I appreciate photography because it enables you to create your own creative thoughts, a photograph captures subject matter in the raw, which you then can conclude upon your self.

I am a very social individual, which corresponds with my name, ha ha. The name: Dakota means “Friend” or “Friendly person” in Indian language. I of a mixed race: Oriental, French, and Polynesian, the easiest term to describe my ethnicity is: Cosmopolitan, though other people might like to associate that with the term: Eurasian, which probably makes more sense, but I think Cosmopolitan sounds more exotic.

When I meet new people most of them have a difficult time guessing my ethnicity, but it makes room for an interesting conversation!

I very much enjoy travel, so far I have spent  time around South East Asia and Polynesia, however, my desired adventures quite recently are set for Europe, I would really like to visit the South of France and I think I have to stick Greece and the Oriental part of Turkey on my list too. When I travel I enjoy taking many photographs, for the sake of documenting my experiences and my favorite places.

Ciao~

“Additional information.”

Location: New Zealand, Nationality: Dual citizen.

Dakotarico – The name is a combination of my first name and my middle name. And yes, Dakota is in fact my real name. When I meet new people I often get the slightest inclination that they’re thinking about Dakota Fanning, get her out of your head right now!

The Camera: I use a Canon G9 to take all of my photographs, I love Canon for it’s functionality and elite quality. Canon is indeed, one of the best photography brands.

Operating system: Apple iMac G5. The best system for design, writing and photography. Of course.

Desirable locations: Tahiti – French Polynesia, Paris – France, Milan, Sardinia and of course Sicily, Istanbul in Turkey, New York, Rarotonga, Cambodia, Ratchaburi province and Kao Yai in Thailand, Akaroa and Queenstown in New Zealand, Singapore Airport and I have quite a few others.

Desirable cuisine: Personally… Thai – Because it’s what I’m used to, Turkish – Because it’s my favorite and French – Because it’s ALWAYS refined, and you get to have Baguette, and perhaps a glass of red wine.

My favorite quote: “In the end, only three things matter – How much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you.”
